Apart from the above mentioned tabs, Lava also unveiled its plan to enter the tablet market by 2012. According to a report, the company plans to launch its Android-based tablet by February next year. "Lava will launch an Android 2.3-based tablet in February for Rs 5,500. It will be made available bundled with a service provider and will not be available as a standalone device," S N Rai, co-founder and director, Lava International was quoted by Business Line as saying.
The tablet is also expected to sport a 17.8-cm (7-inch) capacitive touchscreen and house a 1 GHz processor. The company that stepped into the mobile phone market with the S12 handset, also announced that it plans to complete this fiscal year with Rs 10 billion in revenue. At the same time, the company has also hinted at entering the smartphone market by March/April next year.
