How to Know If Their Site Has a Google Penalty Penguin?

Since the 25th of April this year, many SEO professionals and webmasters have been scrambling to make changes in the way that they have been optimizing their websites. While there are those that have then challenged themselves to improve their SEO campaigns, those who have been utilizing black hat techniques might have to major overhauls with their strategies.
If you still are not very sure of what we are trying to make sense here, we are talking about Google Penguin, the recent update in the algorithms that Google use to rank search results. Its release has caused concerns to website owners as to whether the rank of their website will dip down or they have already received a Google Penguin penalty.
How will I know if my site has been penalized?
Even when you still see your website in the search engine results of Google, it does not exactly mean that you are cleared off from any penalties. Yes, a blacklisted website can mean that it has already been a consequence of the owner’s use of black hat techniques but noticing some unusual or unexpected changes in the traffic of your website can mean that you are being penalized by Google.
Some of the most common signs that you should look for is an abrupt drop in your rank in the search pages of Google, a decrease in the amount of traffic that you get for your website, and a decrease in web inquiries.
Why was my site penalized?
There are so many reasons as to why your website was penalized. For one, the backlinks that you developed prior to the Penguin update must not have conformed to the new algorithms so your site was de-indexed or discounted.
Another reason was that your site has gone through Google’s manual review and the team saw that your backlinks contain no value. Because of this, they might have given you a penalty of -40, -50, or even a -100. For instance, if you used to rank at #4 in the search results of Google, a -40 penalty means that your site will not rank at #44.
What should I do after a Google Penguin penalty?
If you suspect or are very sure that you site has received a penalty from Google Penguin, it is good news that there are some things that you can actually do to somehow redeem your rank. One of which is to shift your focus on creating quality links. Dump the old backlinks that you have been using. Now that you have been penalized, those old backlinks will be of no use as they already have been discounted or de-indexed by Google.
To verify if you did receive a penalty, log in to your Google Webmaster Account. Google will notify those webmasters who have been participating in spammy behavior that goes against the rules of their Penguin update. To verify if you did get a penalty, it is best that you check your account and see if you received any notification.

Users showing their interests in Pinterest ; daily visits double in three months.

Pinterest hasn't had a great deal of development recently except for maybe its user base. According to an infographic by Tamba, a social media company, Pinterest has doubled its daily unique pageviews between January 2012 and March 2012. In January, the number of daily unique visits to the social network was 2 million. In March, it was 4 million. Pinterest exists on iOS but not Android yet, and has been downloaded 2,50,000 times on the Apple mobile OS.Furthermore, 56 percent of Pinterest users are between the ages of 25 and 44. 28 percent of users in both January and March, were between the ages of 25 and 35, and another 28 percent between the ages of 35-44. The majority chunk (42 percent) of Pinterest users exist in the income bracket between $25,000 and $50,000 per year.

What's interesting though is the increasing male population on the social network. Pinterest has been reputed as being primarily a ladies' social network, but it seems that more men might be getting on board (pun intended). In January, 20 percent of Pinterest users were men, which stands women at 80 percent. However, in March, the number of men on Pinterest increased to 28 percent, leaving women at 72 percent. Taking a look at the top 10 user interests on Pinterest, fashion designers and collections come out on top. This is followed by music art and memorabilia and then vineyards and wine tourism. The average time spent on Pinterest per visit is 14.2 minutes and in March 2012, Pinterest had 2.3 billion page views.

A big use of Pinterest is retail. Pinterest links users to websites where they can buy the items that have been 'pinned' and Pinterest is projected to account for 40 percent of all social media driven purchases. Facebook, which is also a place for retailers to bring users to their sites to buy, will account for 60 percent of all social media driven purchases. Buyers referred from Pinterest are 10 percent more likely to buy something as well as spend 10 percent more on average. Pinterest has room for considerable growth, especially with its retail influence as is evident. The question remains whether the social network will stand on its own feet or be swallowed up like Instagram by Facebook. We'll just have to wait and watch. In the meantime, are you Pinteresting?

How to get indexed earlier by Google ?

Every user or content writer want to make life immediately on search engines but that will possible after some useful knowledge of SEO.If you’re not familiar with how some people accomplish getting their web sites submitted to Google quickly, you are going to absolutely prefer this article.

You have heard from lot of people that it can take days, weeks, even months to get indexed by Google or other search engines. If I read this blog title a while ago, I’m sure I would be thinking the same thing as you. Ok, let’s move on to how to get indexed by Google within one hour.
The secret is quite simple. Almost every site in today’s Internet world uses the social network sharing buttons. On my blog, http://www.techapple.org  I include it on every article page. I also include it on the main listing pages underneath my article summary.
If you don’t already have one of these on your sites, get one now, just search “Share This” or “Add This” and you will find a ton of web sites that tell you to put a few lines of Javascript code on your web site and it does the rest.

Ok, so now you have this button added to your web site? Perfect, I would suggest going to a page on your web site that you think will be the most valuable to other users and submit it to a couple of those sites listed in the button.
I have personally found excellent success with both Digg and Reddit. I launched a web site about 3 or 4 months ago, submitted two links to Digg. I waited about an hour or so and searched Google with keywords that I felt I targeted well and lo and behold there it was, my page was found and indexed with Google. Not only was it found, it was in the top 10!
Don’t just stop here though. Submitting to the above sites will provide you with some quick traffic. It won’t last long if people don’t like your site. Plus, it won’t cause your other pages to be indexed either. It really is just a start.
The next step is to create an XML sitemap of your content. Once you’ve done this, create an account on the Google Webmaster Tools. You will need to add your domain and verify your site before continuing.
Once you’ve completed this, add your sitemap that you previously created. Within a few minutes (some times longer), Google will validate your sitemap and queue all of your links to be indexed.
This of course is not a guaranteed solution to be indexed any faster. But Google certainly seems to crawl your sitemap on a regular basis and check the links. It also checks how often your site is updated, the more frequently it is updated, the more frequently Google will crawl your content!
If it’s possible, you should try to perform some kind of daily updates to your site. Ideally if you allow users to comment, hopefully there will be several new comments per day and this will cause your data to be considered new.

Some useful SEO Tips of 2012

Quality Content Is Still King
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Content is King” and that still holds true in 2012, but there will be even more of an emphasis on quality than ever before. Search engines get better and better at judging just how good your content really is.
If we see from a business perspective, it makes sense to put forth your best effort and write something worthwhile instead of spinning and pasting things together from other articles and blog posts you’ve read online. The more good content you get out there, be it blog posts, forum posts, articles, short reports and even audio content like broadcasts or videos, the better your chances of getting visitors to your own site.

If we spend about 20% of our time and effort writing for our own blog or website and 80% out on the web marketing  for our site that will be grateful to achieve target for good SEO.
Optimize way For Keywords
Start most pieces of content that you write with some keyword research. Find out what your readers and potential readers are looking for online. You can use things like the Word tracker keyword tool or the Google keyword tool to find out what terms are searched for. Then write your content around those words and phrases.
Don’t stuff your keywords into your content just for the sake of getting them in there. Rather you should keep your potential customers in mind. Make it fun and easy to read and only include your keyword once or twice in the content. Do use it as part of your title though and be sure to make your key phrase the anchor text that links to it.Anchor text is the text in blue underlined links.
For example, if I mention this blog post somewhere online, I will make the link text “
Some useful SEO Tips of 2012”. It will help reinforce the fact that I want to rank for keywords like “Some Useful SEO” and “Tips of 2012”.

Mixing In Social Media
The biggest change I see in SEO this year is that social media will become more and more important. Google already looks at how many tweets, facebook posts and Google+ mentions each of your web pages gets and that’s going to become more important as we move further into 2012. If you haven’t already done so, sign up for accounts with each of the big social networks. Spend some time setting up your profile, including a picture, a short description and of course a link back to your website or blog. Then start participating regularly. Set aside 15 minutes a day to tweet and post. Make new connections on these networks and share interesting stuff as you come across it. Throw in a link here and there back to your own site and you’ll be all set.
Customer Experience and Balancing of SEO.
2012 will be all about balancing what we need to do to get search engine traffic and creating an awesome customer experience. That means that not every single piece of content will be written just with search results and keywords in mind. Instead focus on our readers, subscribers and customers and write just for them from time to time. If you can’t find a good keyword for a particular blog post, don’t fret it. Write it anyway, especially if your readers will benefit from it.
I don’t do hardly anything just for the sake of SEO. I always keep my target market in mind and find new ways to reach them and serve them. Here’s an example. I’m writing a lot of guest blog posts this month. Yes, there will be a big SEO benefit from all those extra incoming links to my site, but it goes further than that. Each guest post also gives me a chance to get in front of new readers – like you – and allows me to share some of the things I can teach you. Keep that in mind anytime you work on optimizing your site and build links via article marketing, guest blogging, forum participation, blog commenting etc. and you will grow your online business much faster.
