How browse faster on the web with your keyboard ?

Most of people want to use shortcuts at the time of typing to do their work fast. All techies spend a great deal of your time on the internet browsing websites. But how do you do this? Do you use your mouse and keyboard at the same time? If the answer is yes (which it probably is for all of us), keep reading to learn how to browse faster with only your keyboard.
When you are typing on your computer, the need to use the mouse can destroy your productive moment completely. This is because typing, editing or browsing is a creative process, but when you need to use the mouse, you are going into a coordinating process. You are using your hand to guide the mouse to the right spot, instead of being creative with your hands.
This switch in focus slows your browsing speed down, but we are going to cover some tips to make sure you always browse faster by just using your keyboard.
Using Shortcuts
Many services and websites have keyboard shortcuts built into the service. Making sure you know this will keep you productive and quickly moving through the service.
One example of this is using keyboard shortcuts in Gmail. I am able to better manage my inbox by using the following keyboard shortcuts.
O means open.
R means reply.
E means archive.
V means move to folder.
Another trick I do with using shortcuts is whenever I install a new application, I look up a list of shortcuts, write them down and stick it below my screen. This way, I learn all the shortcuts really fast, without having the pain of looking them up all the time.
Browse Chrome with Your Keyboard
Vimium is a wonderful little piece of open source software which enables you to browse all your webpages with your keyboard, instead of your mouse. This will definitely make you browse faster through all of your favorite sites. It is a simple Chrome extension which works immediately after you install it. Some features I personally love (and you will too):
Scrolling through the page with j and k.
Switching tabs with shift+j or shift+k.
Close a tab with x.
Navigating to links with ‘f’. This is the best feature of all. You always had to click on a link to navigate to it, but with Vimium you can do this with your keyboard! If you hit the f key all the links will light up with their key-code

Mini Sensor can measure brain's magnetic activity.

An atom-based magnetic sensor the size of a sugar cube has successfully measured human brain activity, a milestone that could ultimately lead to advancing our understanding of a wide range of neurological conditions and diseases, according to researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
We first reported on an earlier interaction of the sensor, which has been in development since 2004, back when the team was first able to use the sensor to track a human heartbeat in 2010.
This week, the researchers report in the journal Biomedical Optics Expressthat their tiny sensor -- which consists of a gas of 100 billion rubidium atoms and fiber optics to detect the light signals that in turn register the strength of magnetic fields -- now uses a new type of optical fiber that improves signal clarity.
"We're focusing on making the sensors small, getting them close to the signal source, and making them manufacturable and ultimately low in cost," says NIST co-author Svenja Knappe in the institute's news release. "By making an inexpensive system, you could have one in every hospital to test for traumatic brain injuries and one for every football team."
The researchers hope the sensor will improve magnetoencephalography (MEG), a technique for measuring the magnetic fields produced by electrical activity in the brain. Applications include testing for traumatic brain injury, screening for visual perception in newborns, and mapping neurological activity before surgeries that, say, aim to treat epilepsy or remove tumors.
The current gold standard MEG is called a superconducting quantum interference device(SQUID), but it works best at just above absolute zero and thus requires heavy helmet-shaped flasks with cryogenic coolants. NIST's sensor, for one, might allow for lighter, cheaper, and less rigid helmets.
As with the tests to detect a human heartbeat, the team worked with German scientists at a lab in Berlin that is described as having the best magnetic shielding in the world to block the Earth's magnetic field from interfering with extremely sensitive measurements. (The sensor measures signals of about a trillionth of a tesla called a picotesla; MRIs, by comparison, register closer to 1 to 8 tesla.)
The team says it anticipates being able to improve its sensor's performance another tenfold by upping the amount of light it can detect.

Everything What, We can do with PDF’s....

AdobePDF is best format way for sharing documents as they are preserve the formatting, the documents are read-only and also because most computers, mobilephones and e book readers can only open PDF files.
Here you’ll learn how to do just about everything with PDF documents without Adobe Acrobat. You can edit PDF files, combine multiple files as one, add signature images to PDF pages, fill PDF forms online, extract individual pages from PDFs, add click able links to existing PDF documents and so much more. Let’s get started.
Q: How do I create PDF documents on my computer without Adobe Acrobat?
A: You can download and install a virtual PDF printer like Nitro Reader on your computer. You can then create PDF files from any Windows application using the regular Print command – just choose Nitro from the list of available printers.

Q: I like the cloud and don’t want to install software just for converting a bunch of documents to PDFs. Are there any web-based alternatives?
A: Sure. You can upload your documents to Google Docs in the browser and then export them as PDF files. In fact this is the recommended approach if you want to covert multiple documents to PDF in a single batch.

Q: Is it possible to convert documents to PDFs on a mobile phone?
A: There are tons of PDF conversion app for the iPhone and Android phones but you can also use email to convert documents to PDFs on a mobile phone without requiring apps. Just forward the source file(s) to pdf@zamzar.com as an email attachment and they’ll send you an email when the PDFs are ready for download.

Q: How do I directly save web page as PDFs in the browser?
A: There are several options. Either open the web page in your browser and then print it locally using the Nitro PDF Reader (See #1). Or you can email the web page URL to mypdf@joliprint.com and they’ll send you the full page as a PDF. Alternatively, you can use CleanPrint to download web pages as PDFs. This is available as a bookmarklet and as an extension for all popular browsers.

Q: How can I convert PDF files to other formats like Word, images, HTML, etc.
A: You can upload the PDF document to zamzar.com and convert it to other formats like doc, html, text, and more.  Or you can use your Gmail account to convert PDF to HTML.

Q: Someone sent me a PDF document in Chinese but I can read only English?
A: You can easily translate PDF files from one language to another using Google Translate .

Q: Can I edit PDF files?
A: PDF files are essentially read-only documents but there are several tools to help you edit PDF files.

Q: How do I mergetwo or more PDF files into one? Can I also change the page order?
A: You should use PDF Fill, a versatile PDF editing tool that lets you combine multiple PDF files into one. PDF Fill can also be used to rearrange pages of a PDF file or for rotating pages (useful for scanned PDFs).

Q: I want to extract text from a scanned PDF document and use it in my Word document. What is the best option?
A: You can easily extract text from regular PDFs using the text selection tool in Adobe Reader but for scanned PDFs, Google Docs OCR is a good choice. Upload the scanned PDF document to Google Docs, select the option that says “Convert text from PDF and image files to Google documents” and then choose File –> Download as Word to save the extracted text.

Q: I have some restricted PDF documents on my computer that neither allow printing nor can you select text with the mouse.
A: You can use online services like PDFUnlock.com or freemyPDF.com to remove all common restrictions around a PDF file – such as print, copying, etc. – without requiring any passwords.

Q: Some PDF files on our intranet are protected by a password and the employee who created those PDFs is no longer with the company. How can we open these PDFs?
A: There are workarounds to open password protected PDFs or you can completely remove passwords from a PDF file (like your bank’s credit card statements).

Q: Is there a PDF conversion service that I can integrate with my website to help visitors download my articles as PDFs?
A: Add the Joliprint button anywhere on your website and people can convert your web articles to PDFs with a click. If your blog offers an RSS feed, you can use RSS2PDF to offer a downloadable PDF version of your blog.

Q: How can I add annotations or text notes to some of my PDF documents?
A: Get PDF-X Viewer, a PDF viewer app like Adobe Reader but with some extra features. You can add comments, annotations or even paste images to your PDF pages. Alternatively, use PDF Escape to add annotations, call-outs and text to your PDFs online in the browser without requiring any software.

Q: Can I fill PDF forms online without Acrobat Reader?
A: Sure, go to PDF Filler, upload the PDF form and start typing. It converts the PDF form into images and the user can type right on top of these images. When you have filled the form and ready to print, the images and user text are combined into a single image. The other good option is FillanyPDF.com that is again free.

Q: How can I add watermarks or even my (real) signature to a PDF document?
A: First draw your signature in Paint (or other photo editing tool) and save it as an image. Now open Adobe Reader and choose Tools –> Place Signature. Copy-paste that signature image anywhere on the PDF page. You can use the same technique to insert watermarks inside the PDF.

Q: I have a PDF book that contains some 200 pages. Is there a way to extract selected pages from that book and save it as another PDF.
A: You can the free PDF SAM (split and merge) utility to extract one or more pages from a PDF document and save them as separate PDFs. The same tool can be used to mergemultiple PDFs into one file.

Q: How can I protect my PDF documents with a password?
A: Upload the PDF file to pdfprotect.net, set a security password and export it as PDF again. The service can be used to password-protect files up to 10 MB in size.

Q: How do I embed PDF files on my blog?
A: Upload the PDF file to Google Docs and then embed it in your web pages using the Google Docs Viewer. Alternatively, upload the PDF to document hosting sites like Issuu, Scribd or SlideShare and use their Flash based viewer for embedding PDF into your web pages.

Set up PIN Logon procedure in Windows 8..

While discussing how you can skip password prompt to automatically logon to Windows 8, I already mentioned that with the release of Windows 8, Microsoft is targeting not only laptops and desktops, but also tablets. To make the portable devices secure and at the same time user friendly, Microsoft has introduced two new method of secure logon to Windows, the Picture Password and PIN logon.
Windows8
Picture password, a method of using some predefined gestures on a picture to logon while pin is a quick and convenient way to sign in to a Windows 8 PC by using a 4-digit code just like an ATM card.
I personally feel that using a PIN as much more user-friendly than the picture password and thus, we will see how you can set up the PIN logon in Windows 8.
Setting up Pin Logon
1. To set up the pin logon in Windows 8, Open the start screen and search for Users under the settings tab to launch the Metro Version of Windows Settings.

2. Under the Users settings, click on the button Create a Pin under the Sign-in options.

3. Before you proceed any further, you will have to verify your administrative privileges by providing the current Windows logon password.

4. Once you authenticate yourself, enter a four-digit pin and confirm it. After you have entered the pin, click on the Finish button to enable the PIN logon options.

From this day forwards, you will be asked to enter your PIN on every Windows 8  logon event. One of the good things about the pin logon is that, as soon as you enter the correct pin, Windows automatically logs you in, and you will not have to press the enter button thus saving you one more button press.
If by any chance, you forgot your PIN, you can click on the Sign-in option on the logon screen to sign in with your default password and then go to the user settings to change or remove the PIN.
Conclusion :-
Microsoft team has introduced this PIN option in Windows 8 for tablets and portable devices, but you can use them on your laptops and desktops as well. It’s safe, It’s secure, and it’s very convenient as compared to the convention password we use.

Now Google Play viewing in Navigation Bar of Google.

Few days back, Google has re-branded its Android Market to Google Play. In Android market users were only allowed to access Android Apps (outside US) but now Google has expanded its android marketplace which now includes Android Apps, eBooks, movies, as well as music. All these services are divided in four categories respective to their types. To create more awareness about this service Google has embedded Google Play in the Top Black Navigation Bar.

Navigation Bar appears while surfing any of the Google services like Google+, Orkut, Gmail etc just below the browser address bar. Now a new Play button is appearing in the navigation bar which redirects you on the Google Play store. Along with adding Play button in the navigation bar Google has also shifted Calendar and Documents into More button which encapsulates all lower-priority services like Google Finance, Google Videos etc.
Google has attempted to merge Movies, eBooks, Apps and Music under one hood via Google Play but this is not available for all the users around the globe i.e. users from Canada and U.K will only have to access movies, books and android Apps, for Japan users it offers only movies and android Apps.
Rumors are that Google Play in foreseeable future it will become the important part of Google. It importance can be understood from its presence in homepage of Google even-though it is of no use for PC users. This store is also expected to sell movies soon.
In upcoming time Google Play will give stiff competition to most popular online retailers like Amazon, iTunes etc.
