Everyone waits for filling Facebook Pre-IPO.

Facebook a smart long-term bet for investors, regardless of its exact IPO pricing.Facebook to file for its IPO this week, one of the big questions is what its valuation will be. Will it hit the magic $100 billion? 

But if Facebook went public today, chances are that it would get a valuation of around $85 billion. We know this because there is a pretty good proxy. Facebook shares trade on provate markets like Sharespost and SecondMarket. In fact, there is an auction going on right now on Sharespost for a block of Facebook shares which ends on February 2 (the same day the filing is expected to hit). The last contract was yesterday at $35.50, which gives Facebook an implied valuation of $83.5 billion. The last auction on Sharespost closed at a “clearing price” of $34 on January 20, which gave it an implied valuation of $80 billion.

Sharespost is an illiquid market with limited supply, so this is a very loose proxy. But it sets an important benchmark. Another benchmark to look at is other social networking stocks that are already trading publicly, most importantly Zynga and LinkedIn. Both fell after their IPOs, but have been rallying so far this year ahead of earnings. (Zynga is finally above its $10 IPO price). Who knows where they will be in April or May, but a bull market for those stocks will mean a higher valuation for Facebook at its IPO. If they tank again, then Facebook’s valuation could also come under pressure.

If $85 billion sounds familiar, that is because that is where Facebook was trading on the private markets almost a year ago. Valuations kept going up after that, helping LinkedIn and other Internet companies go public. Then all the IPOs sank, and now they are climbing back.

"To manufacture Aakash in such large numbers, fresh tenders will be released again and other companies along with Datawind (the London-based company that develops it) will also get a chance.

On complaints from some quarters regarding the technical aspects of the device, including poor battery, slow processor speed and the overall build, Sinha said the issues are being looked into. The official said the ministry has even received requests for Aakash from America, Panama, Ecuador and other African countries.

Device which is  7-inch touch screen tablet, has an ARM 11 processor and 256 MB RAM running under the Android 2.2 operating system. It has two universal serial bus(USB) ports and is capable of running high definition (HD) quality videos.

Aakash, bought under the HRD Ministry's National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NME-ICT) project, is available to students for Rs 1,100 after government subsidy.

The great social networking site Facebook introduced yesterday a “Listen With” button that lets users of music services such as Rdio and Spotify share the exact same song, at the same point in the song, via the music service. However, both parties will have to be registered users of the service.

Facebook India has partnered with Fonetwish to bring Facebook on every mobile phone without require any apps or even the Web.

Firstly you dial the *325# number, then enter your Facebook username and password and you are using. You can then send number based commands to access various features of Facebook, chat with friends who are online, add new people to your friends list and more.

I played with the service for some time and it was a nice experience overall. If there were a Unix-like shell interface for Facebook, it would be much similar. Fonetwish says that this service is currently available for Airtel, Aircel, Idea and Tata Docomo users in India.

Picture Password Security Feature in Windows 8.

In Microsoft upcoming level  with picture password security feature in Windows 8 operating system and a feature that allows you to store and synchronize passwords in that OS. Windows8 is designed for touch screen devices such as tablets and the novel sign-on systems makes use of the sensitive displays they are likely to sport.

Today we have several types of security layers, we have text passwords, facial recognition, but it seems that Windows 8 will feature picture passwords as well. According to Microsoft, you just need to choose a specific picture that you wish to use, and perform a specific gesture in order to log in. As for the supported gestures, you can use lines, circles, and taps, but some security experts believe that picture passwords aren’t secure enough because your gestures can be viewed or even recorded by another person.

 As with any other form of computer protection, there is the question of reliability, and Microsoft has just offered as series of tips aimed at ensuring that users can get the most out of it. Another important factor involves the gestures that one chooses to perform for unlocking the device. There should be a random mixture of gesture types and sequence selected, which increases the strength of the picture password, and the security of the system.

IE can be used in Linux Systems by Wine & Winetricks.

I don’t like Internet Explorer but lot of times we have to require IE to test for websites testing

for checking the scenario purpose on my Linux machine. So, here I am going to show how we can install IE in Linux systems.

For IE installation in Linux, we need to have Wine and Winetricks that allows us to run Internet Explorer. I used VMware with RedHat 6 for installation of Internet Explorer 8 and works perfectly. You can follow my steps below to install the any IE version like 7, 8 or 9 on your Linux systems like RedHat, CentOS and Fedora. Before proceed of installation, I would like to intend  little description of Wine and Winetricks which are as follows :-

Wine is an open source free software application for Linux systems that used to run Windows applications on Linux .

Winetricks is a helper script to download and install various redistributable run time libraries needed to run some programs in Wine. These may include replacements for components of Wine using closed source libraries. It has a menu of supported games/apps for which it can do all the workarounds automatically. It also lets you install missing DLLs or tweak various Wine settings individually.

Step 1: Downloading and Installing Required Packages

First install the Wine tool by using our Wine installation procedure. Once you finishes with Wine installation, move further installation steps. (Note : If you already have Wine installed on your Linux systems, you can skip the Wine installation).

Step 1: Downloading and Installing Winetricks

1. Download the Winetricks script with Wget command and Run the winetricks. Follow below installation instructions. (Note : You must run these commands in GUI window).

# wget http://winetricks.org/winetricks

# cp winetricks /usr/bin

# chmod +x /usr/bin/winetricks

# winetricks corefonts flash

During the installation process you will asked you to install "Adobe Flash". Simply agree and click on OK button.

2. Next download any IE version. Like I have download the IE 8.

# wget http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/C/0/CC0BD555-33DD-411E-936B-73AC6F95AE11/IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe

3. Start IE 8 installer using Wine.

# wine IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe

4. Once you run above command you will see screenshot of IE 8 installer.

5. Don’t select the Windows security updates option during installation process as it may cause issues later on.

6. Next click on Restart now button to get effects. After rebooting your system, you will see Internet Explorer 8 under Applications –> Wine –> Programs.

7. Finally launch Internet Explorer 8 in Linux.

In the last month Mozilla has released stable and final version of Firefox9.0.1 for all major operating systems. Now today, again Mozillareleases Firefox 10 Beta 3 version for Windows, Mac and Linux platform. Google building their Own Processor and GPU, its a rumor or real

This week a rather above-average bit of information on the future of mobile in Google, that being them creating no less than their very own processor and GPU for their future devices – namely their Nexus line of purely stock Android smartphones and tablets heard from sources. The source says that a programming employee at Google told him this information. Google wants to create a product they can support for an extended period of time, much like Apple and the iPhone. The processor will be probably be found in the next, which means we should hear something about it later this year. Google taking a new command of their own destinies with hardware manufacturing.

The folks at Google have of course not commented on the matter as if such a thing were true, they’d drop the good news like an atom bomb upon the industry. Then again it is CES 2012 week, and we’ve not yet truly begun. Googlecould sneak in here with a bunch of fun in their own time, chip smashing all the way home.

What do you think about this? Could Google be creating a new batch of hardware for use in their own future products? Android works with a majorly large pledge of manufacturers, their hardware spanning from the very awesome to the very terrible. Google very well may be once again be taking steps toward solidifying its platform again, but it’s a rumor or real.
