India Microsoft Store India has been hacked, by a group calling itself Chinese Evil Shadow Team. Hacker’s not only leaked this India Microsoft Store, they grabbed all the usernames and passwords also which were stored in plain text format without any encryption. If the users have ever registered themselves on the Microsoft Store, time has come to change their passwords on their sites.
The Chinese Evil Shadow Team is apparently a two-man team, who also managed to upload a page to deface the site, as seen below. It was reported by WB Sauce that though the website was under attack, but each page of website was still approachable. It is now presumed that the Microsoft’s engineers have taken hold over the website, and are executing the needed security checks. A short time will be needed before the website will go in full force as before. Still the purpose of the hack is not known.
MicrosoftIndia has confirmed the attack, and sent out precautionary emails to members. The company reassured users that credit card details and payment information databases were not affected, however, other data may have been exposed, such as order details, and shipping addresses, apart from usernames, e-mail addresses, and passwords.
The company has asked users using the same e-mail and password combinations on any other sites to “proactively change the password immediately.” Microsoft Store India will be sending an email with a temporary password and a prompt to create a new password. Users who receive the e-mail are requested to immediately create a new password.
MicrosoftStore takes this situation very seriously, and the company is diligently working to remedy the issue and keep our customers protected. But if you have purchased something from the online store of Microsoft India, it would be good for you to change your passwords as soon as possible.

Microsoftrequires to sort out the holes in the security systems they’ve placed. The hack would have been worse if the credit card numbers and other personal details were revealed.
