Facebook announced that in one day over 600,000 accounts are compromised of hacking/forgetting passwords. Facebook security has been an issue since long time with increasing concerns over the security issues. Recently Facebook released two new features called Trusted Friends and App Passwords as a part of their security, this options allow users to take control of their hijacked accounts.

Facebook says our engineers are working hard to solve these security issues to give better and smoother site experience:
Facebook Trusted Friends:-
Trusted Friends are friends you can reach out to if you ever get locked out of your Facebook account. For example lets say you forgot your password. What you will do next? obviously you try to recover password by using 'forgot your password' option, But what if you forgot the password of the email that you have provided for the back door access too.

Now here your Trusted Friends play their role. If you forgot your password, Facebook will send a security code to each of your trusted friends. Just you have to collect your security codes from each friend. You only need three codes to get back your account. But i recommend you to select 4-5 friends. But remember, your trusted friends should be always available and quickly respond you.
How To Setup Facebook Trusted Friends
1. Go to your Facebook Account Settings --> Security -->Security Settings.
2. Click on the Trusted Friends section.
3.Click Choose Trusted Friends
4. Scroll through your friends or search for specific friends.
5. Select 4-5 friends and confirm your choices. See screenshot below.

Facebook App Passwords:-
App Passwords generates a unique passwords to all your third party apps. In Facebook we use bunch of other third party apps which allow us to enter our Facebook credentials. So, this great feature allow us to generate random passwords for the selected apps. Even you can block a specific app by deleting the generated password. This would keep our original Facebook login credentials safe from other third party apps. To generate app passwords users can visit the Account Settings -->Security Settings tab and enter the name of an app generate a unique password for it.
